Fitness fans raise £1,600 for Pendleside Hospice

A group of fitness enthusiasts from Intershape Fitness in Colne have raised a fantastic £1,687.45 for Pendleside Hospice.

The fundraiser took place at the gym and saw members try to run as far as they could on a treadmill throughout the day in memory of one of their members, David Barrow.

Organiser Mick Gillam said: “We came up with the idea of a sponsored run but that we’d do it on the treadmills in the gym.

“We appealed for runners within the membership and lots of people came forward and offered to run on the day.

“Between us we covered a few hundred miles which we were very happy with. The runners included David’s two sons, Tom and James who contributed greatly to the amount of miles we ran!”
