Artists, crafts people and designers will all be part of an arts and vintage shop which is opening in a landmark Nelson town centre building in December – and there is a final call for creative traders to come forward before it is full!
Called simply The Shop, it will see the former post office on New Scotland Road transformed into a creative emporium where people can buy, sell and browse plus take part in workshops.
And it will also be a place where people can go for coffee and buy beautiful unique things ranging from pre-loved vintage clothing and furniture to jewellery and original art.
The building has stood empty for some time since the post office transferred to premises on the Place de Creil and the transformation will see increasing concerns over its condition eased.
Kirsty Rose, arts development officer for Pendle Leisure Trust who is leading the project, said: “Work is going on at all hours to get this inspiring place ready to open its doors at the next Arts and Vintage Festival on Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th.
“But the big difference is that it will stay open after the festival.
“Already inspiring artists and creative people have signed up to join The Shop.
“We’re now putting out a final call for a few more so that it’s full of wonderful things by opening day.”
Anyone who is interested in being part of The Shop is asked to ring Kirsty on 661784 or 07815 962190.
