WHEN the Christmas decorations come down, please remember to recycle as much as you can.
That’s the message from Pendle Council’s Waste Management team.
Recycling crews will be collecting real Christmas trees for two weeks beginning on Monday.
They will collect them on your recycling/garden waste day, or in rural zones, on the refuse/garden waste day.
Coun. John David, who represents recycling in Pendle, said: “This is a service that we offer borough wide to our residents every year completely free of charge.
“Simply remove your decorations from the trees and put them out with your green or brown bin for recycling.
“The trees we collect are taken to Leyland for recycling with Pendle’s other garden waste, and turned into compost.”
Don’t forget, Christmas cards and wrapping paper can be recycled along with your other paper and cardboard waste.
Just pop them into your green box or a cardboard box and leave them out for collection on your regular recycling day.
